Burst Books

Digital Product Licence and Download Terms

Important conditions applying to every digital product supplied with your purchase.

Your purchase gives you a licence to use the supplied digital files. It does not transfer ownership of the files and does not give you permission to share, publish, host, resell, or redistribute them.
Download links and files are for the purchaser only. Do not share them with any other person.

1. Acceptance

By purchasing, downloading, opening, or using a Burst Books digital product, you accept this licence. If you do not accept these terms, do not download, open, copy, print, or use the files.

2. Licence granted

Burst Books grants the original purchaser a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable licence to use the digital files in accordance with these terms. The licence belongs to one individual purchaser. It may not be transferred with a computer, storage device, account, business, school, studio, membership, or other organisation.

3. What you may do

Download the files to computers, tablets, phones, and storage devices personally controlled by you.
Keep a private backup that is protected from access by other people.
Print the plates for your own study, drawing practice, reference, and personal display.
Crop, resize, rotate, recolour, annotate, clean, combine, or otherwise modify the files digitally for your own personal use.
Use the plates as references when creating genuinely original drawings, paintings, sculptures, or other original artwork.
Display or sell your own genuinely original artwork, but not the supplied files, direct reproductions, traced digital copies, or minimally modified versions.

4. Professional printing exception

You may provide an individual file to a professional printing service solely to produce physical prints for your own permitted personal use. You must tell the printer that the file is licensed and confidential. The printer must not retain, reuse, publish, sell, display, or distribute the file after completing your order. You remain responsible for ensuring that the printer complies with these restrictions.

5. What you must not do

Share filesDo not send, copy, loan, gift, transfer, exchange, email, message, or otherwise provide any supplied file to another person.
Share linksDo not share, forward, publish, post, or expose any download link, download email, order-status link, access token, or account credential.
Public storageDo not upload the files to public or shared cloud storage, file-sharing services, torrents, online archives, forums, shared drives, or public folders.
Web hostingDo not host, embed, display, or make the files accessible through any website, blog, social-media account, intranet, membership site, online course, marketplace, or digital library.
RedistributionDo not sell, resell, sublicense, rent, republish, bundle, repackage, distribute, or give away the files, whether separately or as part of another product or service.
Modified copiesDo not distribute or sell a cropped, resized, recoloured, filtered, annotated, traced, restored, watermarked, composited, or otherwise modified copy of a supplied file.
Commercial productsDo not use the supplied or modified files to create posters, prints, merchandise, print-on-demand products, stock images, clip art, templates, NFTs, course packs, or competing digital collections for sale or distribution.
Multi-user useDo not use the files as shared classroom, school, university, library, studio, company, workshop, membership, or organisational resources without a separate written multi-user licence.
Artificial intelligenceDo not upload the files to artificial-intelligence services, image-generation systems, machine-learning platforms, training datasets, computer-vision datasets, or model repositories.
CircumventionDo not remove or obscure licence notices, identifiers, filenames, metadata, watermarks, access controls, or download restrictions for the purpose of avoiding these terms.

6. Original artwork created by you

You may use the plates as references for learning and for creating genuinely original artwork through your own drawing, painting, sculpting, or comparable creative work. You may display or sell your own genuinely original artwork. This permission does not extend to selling or distributing the supplied files, direct reproductions, traced digital copies, minimally modified versions, or physical prints made directly from the supplied plates.

7. Download-link security

  • Treat every download link as confidential access issued only to you.
  • Do not forward the delivery email or allow another person to use the link.
  • Do not post the link in a message board, shared document, social-media post, website, public bookmark, or shared storage folder.
  • If a link is accidentally exposed, stop sharing it and contact Burst Books immediately.
  • Download limits may be applied to prevent unauthorised distribution. If you reach a limit through legitimate personal use, contact Burst Books with your order details.

8. Private storage and backups

You may keep private backup copies on personally controlled local storage or in a private, access-controlled online account that is not shared with anyone else. You must not place the files in any public, link-accessible, team, family, classroom, workplace, or shared folder. Burst Books download access is a delivery service, not permanent online storage. Save and protect your permitted private copy promptly.

9. Breach and termination

Any unauthorised sharing, redistribution, publication, uploading, hosting, resale, or disclosure of a file or download link is a material breach of this licence. It may also constitute copyright infringement or other unlawful conduct.

Access may be terminated

If you breach this licence, Burst Books may immediately terminate your licence, disable or limit download access, cancel replacement access, and require you to delete every supplied or unauthorised copy. Access terminated because of a licence breach will not be refunded, except where a remedy cannot lawfully be excluded.

Burst Books reserves the right to issue takedown notices, seek removal of unauthorised copies or links, preserve evidence, recover losses and enforcement costs where available, and pursue any other remedy available for breach or infringement.

10. Ownership and historical source works

The historical source artworks represented in a Burst Books collection may be in the public domain. Burst Books does not claim ownership of an underlying historical work merely because that historical work is included in a collection.

This licence applies to the specific Burst Books digital editions supplied with your purchase, including their restoration work, digital preparation, selection, arrangement, compilation, file structure, naming, presentation, branding, and associated materials, to the extent protected by applicable rights.

11. No implied permissions

Any use not expressly permitted by this licence is reserved. Silence about a particular technology, platform, distribution method, or commercial practice does not grant permission. Written permission from Burst Books is required before any use outside these terms.

12. Separate licences

Schools, universities, libraries, studios, companies, teachers, course operators, publishers, galleries, and other organisations must obtain a separate written licence before making the files available to more than one person or incorporating them into teaching, publishing, commercial, archival, or organisational activities.

13. File and product support

If a purchased ZIP is incomplete, corrupt, assigned to the wrong product, or cannot be downloaded through normal use, contact Burst Books through the store contact page and provide the order number, product title, and affected filename. Do not post the download link publicly when requesting assistance.

14. Continuing obligations

The restrictions on sharing, redistribution, publication, hosting, resale, disclosure, artificial-intelligence use, and unauthorised copying continue after download access ends or this licence is terminated. If the licence terminates, you must cease using the files and delete every copy under your control.

Keep your files private. Keep your download links private. Print and modify them for your own permitted use, but do not share, host, sell, or redistribute the supplied digital editions.
